Submit

Thank you for your interest in submitting to Verso.
Verso is an independent publication focused on essays, investigative work, and critical analysis. We are selective in what we publish and prioritize clarity, depth, and perspective over volume. Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting.

What We Publish

Verso accepts submissions aligned with the following sections:

Essays - Structured reflections, arguments, and analyses that explore ideas, perception, narrative, or lived experience.
Publishing - Book reviews and commentary on the writing and publishing industry.
Investigative Work - Research-based pieces that examine real events, historical records, or unresolved narratives (e.g., JFK, UFO, or similar topics aligned with Verso’s investigative direction).

Submissions must clearly fit within one of these areas. Work that does not align with these categories will not be considered.

What We Do Not Publish

Verso does not accept:

  • Fiction
  • Poetry
  • Experimental writing without a clear analytical or investigative focus
  • General blog-style content or unstructured opinion pieces

Formatting Requirements

All submissions must be sent as a Microsoft Word document (.docx).

  • Essays and publishing-related submissions should be concise and structured. If your document exceeds 6 pages, it is likely too long for consideration.
  • Investigative submissions may exceed this length, if necessary, but must remain focused and well-organized.
  • Images should only be included if they serve as evidence or are essential to the piece. Decorative visuals will be removed.

Include your full name, a short bio (2–3 sentences), and the category of your submission in the body of your email.

Response Time

Due to the volume of submissions, please allow up to 60 days for a response. Every submission is reviewed, and we will respond when a decision has been made.
